North Hollywood has changed a lot. The NoHo Arts District around Lankershim and Magnolia has added dozens of mid-rise apartment complexes near the Red and Orange Line station in the last fifteen years. Those buildings have modern plumbing but cabinets packed tight with shutoffs, dishwasher lines, and builder-grade disposals.
Outside the core, it's San Fernando Valley single-family housing. Valley Village and Toluca Woods have 1940s and 1950s ranch houses with bigger yards and remodeled kitchens. Valley Glen and the streets toward Sun Valley have post-war homes, many converted to rentals with ADUs in the back. Along the main boulevards there are 1960s–1980s apartment buildings with original kitchens.
ADUs are a growing part of our work here: small backyard units with compact kitchens, often with a small sink where a full-size disposal doesn't fit.
